Requirements to Accept Your Existing Blood Work Lab Results

Lab results must be collected within the last 30 days and be in document form (Preferably in PDF. No pictures or screenshots).

All pages of the document must contain the patient’s full name, date of birth and date of collection as the document will become part of the patient’s medical chart.

Male Lab Panels and Required Tests

The following lab panels are required for males, and fasting is necessary for certain tests:

  • Lipid panel (fasting)
  • CMP
  • CBC
  • TSH
  • PSA
  • Total testosterone
  • Free testosterone
  • Estradiol

If currently treating w/ injectable testosterone, Estrogen blocker or Free T stimulator you must stop taking all HRT medications for 7 days prior to the blood draw.

Our Doctors want to see what the patient is like without the help of medications, as it pertains to hormones.

If you are on a topical regimen, you can apply creams in the early A.M. along with taking other HRT medications and have blood drawn approximately 6 hours later.

Female Lab Panels and Required Tests

The following lab panels are required for females, and fasting is necessary. The tests should be drawn on day 21 of their cycle (Day 1 is the first day of bleeding):

  • Lipid panel(fasting)
  • CMP
  • CBC
  • TSH
  • Progesterone
  • Estradiol
  • Total testosterone
  • Free testosterone

If you are currently being treated w/ oral progesterone, estrogen, etc. you must be off of those medications for a minimum of 3 days prior to having blood drawn.

If you are on a topical regimen, you can apply creams in the early A.M. and have blood drawn approximately 6 hours later.

If you have any questions or need further guidance regarding your male or female lab panels, including fasting requirements and medication adjustments for hormone replacement therapy, please contact HRT Doctors Group.
